Focus of the Project: The British School, New Delhi
Students at The British School, New Delhi have the opportunity to study the following sciences:
Sports, exercise and health science
Our students did many surveys and small experiments in and around Mangar. Mangar is a village near Faridabad in Northern India. We worked at an eco-friendly farm, Laksh Farms, within the village and students visited a nearby primary school as well. People at the farm, village and school were surveyed. Students also worked in a forest that the community at Mangar holds with great reverence and conserves as well. This forest is called Mangarbani and is a typical thorn-scrub forest of the Aravali Ranges in the area.
Some experiments include:
• Surveying the health and nutritional status of village folk and farm hands
• Surveying how villagers keep their homes safe and clean (sanitation, storing water and food etc)
• Surveying flora and fauna by simple technique
As a good practice we wove in some CAS and the village school was the environment where our students did some community work, including making and giving small teaching aids.
